Providence, RI - The Boston Lady Whalers are thrilled to share that 2006-born forward Avery Saba (Pittsburgh Penguins Elite) and 2006-born defender Victoria Damaini (Mississauga Hurricanes U22) have committed to Brown University for the Fall of 2024.
Avery Saba, a Pittsburgh native herself, has played with the Pens Elite program the entire way up through her developmental years. She joined our 2006 group this past year, and was a dominant force at the North American Female Elite Showcase in 2022. Avery is an elite playmaker with exceptional peripheral vision.
Victoria Damaini is a shutdown defender who hails from north of the border, in London, Ontario. Victoria first joined our group in 2021 as a stay-at-home defender on our 2021 Beantown Classic team. She has extremely advanced puck skills, knows when and when not to pinch, and is as as solid as they come. Victoria's cousin Riley is a 2000-born forward on our boys Boston Junior Whalers side who currently skates for the Texas Stars in the AHL.
Congratulations to Avery, Victoria, and their families on this monumental accomplishment!! We will be rooting on the Brown Bears for years to come!
