Arlington, MA - The Boston Lady Whalers are extremely proud to share that 2001-born Forward, Molly Griffin, has been named the recipient of the 2020 John Carlton Memorial Trophy by the Boston Bruins.

The John Carlton Memorial Trophies are given annually by the Boston Bruins to the outstanding male and female student athletes in Eastern Massachusetts high school hockey or junior hockey. They are given to the high school seniors "who combine exceptional hockey skills with academic excellence." The annual awards are named in honor of the late Bruins scout and administrator who passed away in December 1982 after a long and dedicated affiliation at all levels of the game.

Griffin, a native of Arlington, MA, has been a star and offensive catalyst at the Buckingham, Brown & Nichols School (BB&N) for the past 5 seasons.  Griffin grew up playing for the East Coast Wizards youth program before matriculating on to BB&N, where she graduates this spring as the 2nd All-Time leader in points.  Over the course of her five years on the Varsity team at BB&N, Griffin amassed an astonishing 79 goals and added 66 assists to total 145 points.

Molly has been an offensive juggernaut as a member of our Lady Whalers program for years, and is pictured above being awarded the 2019 Battle of Boston MVP Award after pacing our U19 Boston Lady Whalers to another championship.  Molly will suit up for Northeastern University next season as a Freshman, and we are very much looking forward to watching her continue to turn heads at the collegiate level beginning next season.

Congratulations to Molly Griffin on being named the 2020 John Carlton Memorial Trophy recipient!!
