Boston, MA -  The Boston Lady Whalers are excited to share that Élizabeth Giguère was named the recipient of the 2020 Patty Kazmaier Award Winner, awarded annually to the NCAA's Top Female College Hockey Player.

A native of Quebec City, Quebec, Élizabeth grew up playing locally for the Citadelles Capitale Nationale club before progressing onward to play her high school years with the Limilou Titans of the CEGEP Women's League in Quebec.  From there, she committed to Clarkson University where she just concluded her junior season, which was cut short due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

In her three seasons thus far at Clarkson, Élizabeth's accolades have been nothing short of mind-blowing.  In her Freshman season, she posted 27 goals and 44 assists for a total of 71 points, and helped lead Clarkson to their National Championship crowning.  In her Sophomore season, Élizabeth tallied 26 goals and 47 assists for a total of 73 points, and was named a Patty Kazmaier Award Top 3 Finalist.  And this past season, she had tallied an astounding 37 goals and added 29 assists for 66 points in just 37 games played, before being named as the recipient of the 2020 Patty Kazmaier Award.

We were fortunate to have Élizabeth behind the bench with our Boston Lady Whalers youth teams in the spring and summer of 2019, where she worked primarily with the defenders.  Most notably, Élizabeth helped guide our 2006 and 2007 Elite teams to their titles at the 2019 CCM Boston Girls Invite last year.

We are extremely proud of Élizabeth for being recognized with the top honor in NCAA Women's Hockey, and we are fortunate to have her work with our young players, and be a part of their journeys as they blaze their own trails for the years to come!
